Sony will broadcast almost half an hour of trailers and announcements during its State of Play livestream next Thursday, the company announced today. It hasn't announced any specific games that will appear at the event, but it will include exciting reveals from our third-party partners.
The announcement at Sony's investor day that it plans to have over 20 titles available for the virtual reality headset is the reason for the news of the livestream. There is only one confirmed game for Sony's upcoming headset, a spinoff of the Horizon franchise called Horizon Call of the Mountain, so hopefully this event will offer more details about the other virtual reality titles on the way.
State of Play broadcasts take place every other month. In the past, there have been broadcasts that only focused on a single game or a collection of games. It sounds like next week's broadcast will be the latter.
The Sony event will take place in a month filled with livestreamed events, including Geeked Week, Summer Game Fest, and an Xbox and Bethesda games showcase.
