An 11-year-old student at the Robb Elementary School in Texas went into what a relative called "survival mode" after seeing a classmate who was fatally shot by the shooter, and smeared the other girl's blood all over her body to make it appear she too. Miah is suffering extreme trauma after taking measures to save her life. Blanca Rivera explained how her niece played dead on KPRC. Rivera said that the 4th graders grabbed the phone of her teacher and called for help. Rivera got a call from Miah's mom at midnight saying her daughter was having a panic attack. The massacre was made worse by the fact that law enforcement did not enter the building for more than an hour after the initial attack. There were officers present almost immediately, but they did not enter until reinforcements arrived with body armor. Police did not fire back at the 18-year-old who was shooting out a window at the school.
