People who love big trucks and the environment are rejoicing. The first electric Ford F-150 was delivered to a retail customer in Michigan.
The hulking silver four-door beast that netizen@oneguynick posted a photo with his new truck looks nothing like electric as the happy couple stand outside the dealership it was delivered to.
Jim Farley, the CEO of Ford, asked the customer how he liked the new vehicle.
The new owner confirmed that he was satisfied with his dealer experience and did not pay any extra fees.
The customer pre-ordered the F-150 in May of 2021. The reservation was converted to an order this January and the truck was delivered today, almost exactly one year after he pre-ordered.
Ford underestimated demand for the F-150 after 200,000 reservations were made last year. The company hopes to make 40,000 units this year and 150,000 by the end of the year.
It will be a while before most customers get their deliveries, so we are looking forward to hearing their reviews and thoughts on whether the newest Built Tough truck delivers.
