Eva Mireles, another teacher who was killed in the attack, was co-teaching in the same classroom for five years with another teacher, who was named Irma. One of her students was found dead in her arms, and she died protecting her students. The teenager who killed 19 students and injured 17 others at the school crashed his truck into a ditch before walking into the school. It took about an hour for the U.S. Border Patrol tactical units to arrive and shoot the man. Video footage posted on social media appeared to show parents pleading with officers gathered outside the school to go inside, and one parent told the Associated Press he proposed charging into the school with other bystanders because the cops aren't doing anything like they are supposed to.
