The first trailer for Andor was released by Disney+, and it will premiere on the service on August 31 with two episodes to start. Lucasfilm confirmed at the Star Wars Celebration at the Anaheim Convention Center that the series will have 12 episodes. Diego Luna will reprise his role as the hero.

The 2016 film, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," is the conclusion of the story set before the events. The upcoming series, Andor, will be set five years beforeRogue One, and will include a scene from the child's childhood.

Also joining Luna is the leader of the ragtag group of Rebel spies, Jyn Erso, as well as Forest Whitaker, who will play a Clone Wars veteran, Saw Gerrera. Nicholas Britell will score the series.

The live-action series will be double the length of the newest six-episode series on Disney+.

Tony Gilroy told Vanity Fair that there will be multiple surprises and a second season. The show's creator makes it clear that Alan Tudyk won't be in it.

Tony Gilroy was the uncredited director of reshoots for the film.

One of the many other shows on Disney+ is Obi-Wan Kenobi.
