Walensky said that all of the cases involved gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men.

The CDC said that some of the confirmed cases had recently traveled to areas with active outbreaks.

More than 200 confirmed or suspected infections of monkeypox have been reported in 20 countries around the world, with most occurring in Europe.

Monkeypox is not a sexually transmitted disease, but can be spread through close contact with an animal that has been bitten.

This is not a finished story.
