The very first web developer, Tim Berners-Lee, was employed to do smart information things at the great laboratory where physics papers were published. Technology doesn't evolve. Everyone says evolution includes a lot of death. There is a lot of decades-old code in our systems, even though not all software survives. If people evolved like technology, you would be 6,000 lizards, 30 Chimpanzees, and a couple Neanderthals.

The World Wide Web may be the most proud technology of all time. Every subsequent version of a browser can work with all the web pages that came before after a few early changes. It grew tags to become visual in its earliest days, and added tabular tags more than 25 years ago.

It is.

I have argued to the despair of anyone within range.

No one knows what they are unleashing. They don't know there is a leash.

Transactions are what forms enable. Transactions of all kinds can be consolidated into platforms and you can find your margins there. Margins are what yield your fortune, and that's how you get power. It forms. Amazon's many disasters, Facebook's wall, and the ads that followed, the Netflix password you share, and so on.

Who knew?

You might say that's not the problem today.
