Richard Arnold respects the right of fans to protest but hopes the arrival of a new manager will change their attitude towards the team.

Arnold admits that United fell well below expectations and only finished sixth because West Ham gave away a lead to lose their final game.

Some fans arrived late and others left early for certain games at the end of the season to protest against the Glazer family's 17 years of ownership of the club.

Arnold is hoping that United have ushered in a new dawn under the leadership of Ten Hag.

Arnold said that fans were frustrated and wanted to see change and improvement.

Football is a game of passion and we fully respect fans right to make their feelings known as long as this remains legal and peaceful.

I would hope that all fans within Old United approach next season with renewed optimism and confidence, as we look forward to a fresh start under the leadership of Erik ten Hag.

On the same day that United released their third-quarter results, the Fans Forum minutes were published. A cash dividend of $0.09 per share will be paid on 24 June, which means more funds going out of the club, mainly to members of the Glazer family.

A lack of success on the pitch is one of the factors behind the protests.

United insiders argue that the dividends and low-cost debts do not stop investment in the team and that they account for a small fraction of revenues.
