Although the long-rumored Pixel Watch has finally arrived, there is still no sign of the mysterious folding phone that we have been waiting for. According to reports from Korean industry site The Elec and supply chain analyst Ross Young, the release of the rumored folding phone has been delayed.

The device was expected to be revealed in the fourth quarter of 2022. This most recent delay could explain why we didn't see the device at the I/O event earlier this month.

The phone's release date has been delayed because it isn't finished yet, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. Young said he heard from multiple sources in the supply chain that the launch of the foldable device was delayed until next spring.

There are two designs for the device, called "Passport" and "Jumbojack", that have been leaked in the past. While the Jumbojack folds vertically like the Z Fold, thePassport folds vertically like the Z Flip. According to The Elec, the Passport variation of the folding device could come with displays from two different companies, with a 7.57-inch display on its interior and a 5.78-inch screen on its exterior.

It seems more likely that the folding phone will not be shown at the event this fall because of the focus on the launch of the highly anticipated Pixel Watch and Pixel 7.
