Beto O'Rourke confronted Governor Greg Abbott and other Republicans at a news conference about the school shooting in Texas. Beto went off on the state's GOP leaders at the press briefing in Uvalde, where 19 children and 2 teachers were shot and killed the day before at an elementary school. Video shows Beto approaching the stage, where Abbott is sitting on the dais, and blaming them for the tragedy, saying the blood is on their hands. Beto told the group that this was on them until they decided to do something. Beto has been vocal about the school shooting on social media, mostly going after Abbott, but now he has taken the crusade to the Governor's feet. Someone on stage shoots back at Beto, who is running for Texas Governor, telling him this isn't the time to get political and calling him a "a**hole." There are reports the man is Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin. After being escorted out by law enforcement, Beto turned back to say his piece. Mike Thompson called for background checks on anyone trying to buy a gun in the country. The California congressman says he and other gun owners in his district support background checks for gun purchases, and he wants 10 GOP Senators to step up and get a law passed that has been sitting on the Senate floor.
