Luka Doncic doesn't see any honor in avoiding being swept in the Western Conference finals. Regardless of the long odds, he is focused on beating the Golden State Warriors.

146 other teams have failed to overcome a 0-3 deficit to win a playoff series, but the Mavs are attempting to do that. Dallas took a step in that direction with a win in Tuesday's Game 4.

If you lose, you lose, I still believe we can win. Don't worry about how many we win. We have to play by the rules. We are going to believe until the end.

The Dallas Stars came back from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits to eliminate the Phoenix Suns in the conference semifinals. The biggest win by a road team in a Game 7 since 1948 was by the Mavs, who routed the Suns by 33 points.

After being named first-team All-NBA for the third year in a row, Doncic added to his list of impressive performances in potential elimination games with a 30-point, 14-rebound, nine-assist outing against the Warriors.

He was the only player in NBA history to score at least 30 points in each of their first five potential elimination games.

Doncic said he just wants to win the game. This isn't anything. We have three more.

The Warriors were able to guard us one-on-one because they can't guard the zone.

Golden State coach Steve Kerr pulled his starters when Dallas was 19-of-36 from 3-point range.

Kerr said that his team wasn't alert defensively and that they weren't sharp. I thought we let them get into a rhythm, and it was hard to get them out of it.

There was a 16-minute rain delay after the halftime break because of a leak in the roof. The Warriors reserves sliced the Mavs lead to single digits with 3:23 remaining, leading Kerr to put starters Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins back on the court after a Dallas timeout.

The Warriors never got any closer after Doncic dunked off a feed from Brunson on the next possession.

Kidd said there was no panic. They had to make a decision. They brought their group back in and couldn't get it done.

The series will return to San Francisco on Thursday.

The players in the locker room feel like they have more basketball to play.
