The Associated Press projected early Wednesday that Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger would get the Republican nomination for a second term.
The race was called by the AP at 1 a.m. More than 90% of votes were counted.
According to data compiled by the AP, Raffensperger led the field with over 50% of the votes, followed by Hice at 33.6% and David Belle Isle at 8.8%.

Joe Biden became the first Democrat in 30 years to win Georgia in the 2020 presidential election, even though he lost by a small margin. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp became a target for Trump after he declined to endorse the former president for president. The rejection of the audit of signatures on Georgia's Absentee Ballots further angered Trump supporters, as he said the audit fell outside of his office's authority. Hice, who promised to aggressively pursue voter fraud culprits if elected, was endorsed by Trump.
During an hour-long January 2021 phone call, Trump urged Raffensperger to try to overturn his 2020 election loss. The president was told by Raffensperger that the data he had was wrong.
Most of the candidates endorsed by Trump have won their primaries so far this year. Kemp won the GOP nomination for governor easily, defeating Perdue.
