  • Morgan Night testified at the trial.

  • The trailer they stayed in wasn't trashed as Heard claimed.

  • The trial went off the rails as Heard's lawyer tried to downplay his testimony.

The trial against Johnny Depp and his ex-wife, Amber Heard, turned into an even more bizarre spectacle on Tuesday as one of Heard's lawyers questioned whether a witness communicated with a person who goes by the name "That Umbrella Guy".

Morgan Night told jurors that he had no idea.

Night testified under oath that he did not follow "That Umbrella Guy" and that he did not know Adam Waldman.

Heard's lawyer told her that Waldman spoke to That Umbrella Guy. Heard seemed to stifle a laugh when her attorney asked her a question.

Night said this sounds like a mental illness.

Night is expected to testify at the end of the trial in which he is accused of defaming Heard when she said in a Washington Post op-ed that she was a victim of domestic violence. In fact, Heard abused him throughout their relationship, which ended in divorce. Heard has denied the allegations and has filed a countersuit, accusing her ex-lover of physically abusing her.

Night was brought to testify as a rebuttal witness to describe what happened during a camping trip in Joshua Tree in May of 2013). Heard yelled at him in their trailer after he interfered with a friend who appeared to put her hands on his then-girlfriend in an intimate way, and that he punched a wall. Heard claimed that Depp, high on shrooms, trashed the trailer in a fit of jealous rage and then sexually assault her by performing a sex act on her.

Night oversaw the operations of the trailer park. Heard appeared standoffish in his interactions with him. Night said that Heard took Depp away from their trailer.

Night said that Ms. Heard came over and said that she wanted to talk to him.

Night said Heard started screaming at Depp. He said that the incident disturbed him because it evoked abusive relationships from his past.

She yelled at him. Night said that he didn't want to hear it because he had been in abusive relationships before.

Night said that Depp was "cowering" during the interaction and "seemed almost afraid" since he is older than Heard. He said that Depp apologized to him after the incident.

Night didn't charge Depp a 'piggy fee'

Night's employees told him that there was a mess in the trailer. Night was concerned since the trailer was originally from the 1950s and was recently restored.

He was put at ease when he got there. The place looked good despite the broken light fixture. Night testified that he found a replacement on eBay and charged one of the assistants $62 for the trouble. The facility charged guests who left a big mess in the trailers before checkout a piggy fee, but he waives it because the trailer's interior looked neat.

Judge Penney Azcarate is overseeing the case and Bredehoft tried to have her block him from taking the stand. Night was a power user on the social network who frequently criticizes Heard and supports her in online discourse.

The testimony about the Hicksville incident would indicate that Depp yelled at Heard. Night disagreed.

That never happened. I was with them all night. He wrote that Amber was acting crazy and jealous.

Night shouldn't take the stand because of the indication that he had seen previous trial testimony. Night was allowed to testify by Azcarate after he said he only found out about the trial from a former employee.

Night told the judge that he had not been paying attention to the trial and that he had not read anything about it after one of the lawyers told him they wanted to call him as a witness. Night said that he wasn't invested in the trial.

Night said that he was happy to tell what he saw.

Night appeared confused at the question of whether he wore a mesh shirt.

He said he would never wear that.

Night made the courtroom laugh when he was asked if he was a fan of Depp.

He said that he was not.
