On June 1st, United Airlines will make several improvements to its food and beverage offerings.
trayed meals will be reintroduced in domestic first class on flights longer than 800 miles, replacing the packaged sandwich it has been serving during the Pandemic. Hot and cold plates will be available for United First customers on regional flights.
The Polaris business class of long-haul international flights will resume coursed meal offerings on June 1. Polaris customers will receive a snack and cocktail before their meal. That will be followed by a dessert.
The full-service meal will replace the Polaris service in which meals are packaged or covered and all at once.
Beer and wine will be available in the cabins when spirits are brought back to international premium economy and economy sections on June 1. Liquor minis will be offered in United Premium Plus. International economy cabins will have liquor minis for purchase.
Gary Leff, who pens the View from the Wing blog about airlines and airline loyalty programs, said that United had previously brought liquor back to Premium Plus before suspending it again in recent months.
Domestic hot-meal service was previously resumed by United's domestic competitors.
