Otto Porter Jr. heads to locker room after injuring foot (0:20)

Otto Porter Jr. was forced to leave the game after hurting his foot on a layup. (0:20)

The Golden State Warriors will try to eliminate the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night without Otto Porter Jr.

The Warriors had one of their valued subs ruled out because of left foot inflammation at the morning shootaround. The Golden State Warriors are in the Western Conference finals.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said that he was still sore. This gives him a couple of days to prepare for a possible Game 5, and we don't want to jeopardize his future availability.

If Dallas can win Game 4 on Tuesday, there will be a Game 5 in San Francisco on Thursday. If the Warriors sweep the Mavericks, they and Porter will have a week off before the NBA Finals.

Porter left the game midway through the second quarter and was ruled out for the rest of the game. The X-rays were negative. He was listed as questionable on the injury report.

Porter is playing in the playoffs and has averaged 5.1 points and 4.1 rebounds.
