The COO of the company defended Musk in an email to all employees.
According to reports from CNBC and the New York Times, Gwynne Shotwell, the top female executive at the rocket company, told employees in an internal message that she personally believed the allegations against Musk to be false. One day after Insider published a report on the allegation, Shotwell sent an email. The woman said that Musk propositioned her for sex during a massage on a private plane, exposing his erect penis to her, and offered to buy her a horse in exchange. Musk made light of the accusation, denying that any sexual harassment took place.
Shotwell commented on Musk's character, saying he would never do anything like that. She didn't deny the existence of the settlement with the flight attendant.
Shotwell wrote that she believes the allegations to be false because she has worked closely with him for 20 years and never heard anything similar.
The COO said that every accusation is taken seriously, regardless of who is involved.
