United States to Increase Inbound Travel Fee for International Visitors

The fee for international travelers in the Visa Waiver Program will be increased.

The standard fee for inbound travelers will increase from $10 to $17, with an additional $4 administrative fee, starting on May 26.

International visitors from the 40 countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program will give extra money to help maintain and use the Electronic System for Travel Authorization.

Each authorization can be used for two years to determine if inbound travelers are eligible for visa-free entry. The new fee will be in effect for a decade.

Brand USA will use up to $100 million of the revenue from the Travel Promotion Fund for marketing. The fee will help the government make over 100 million dollars in the next six years.

The launch of a full Global Entry arrangement with the Government of Brazil was announced earlier this year. After a limited pilot program was launched in November, the number of Brazilian citizens eligible for Global Entry will be increased.
