The first time that the combine host was put up to a bid was for the Super Bowl. Indianapolis was awarded the event for the next two years after the proposals were due to the league.
Indianapolis is the best city to host and grow the NFL Combine after a close review by our internal team, Major Events Advisory Committee, and the National Invitation Camp staff.
The other cities that submitted to host the combine were not disclosed.
Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts, said in a statement that he was proud the Combine would stay in Indianapolis.
The economic impact of the combine was estimated at $9 million.
A new fan experience outside Lucas Oil Stadium and a legacy program focused on mental health are part of the Indianapolis successful bid.
The scouting combine has been hosted in Indianapolis. The combine for the year of 2023 is scheduled for February 28 to March 6.
