According to court documents, Andrew Young entered the lobby of the Wells Police Department on Saturday and delivered a chilling message to the dispatch.

An affidavit was filed in court by a Maine State Police detective. A day of family conflict culminated in Andrew Huber Young shooting his brother, father and 1-year-old niece, who later died from her injuries.

The affidavit states that Andrew Young said the gun was in his car when he was asked where it was located. Police officers found a handgun in the trunk of a vehicle after securing a search warrant.

While out of town, Young continued to text his brother, according to the affidavit. He told the detectives that his brother had talked about smashing his hamster cage and destroying his property.

After the baseball game, Young returned to the house with a gun he had stolen from his father. He said he put the gun in the trunk of his car earlier that day.

Andrew said the gun had bad aim, and he knew it from previous target shooting.

According to court documents, the woman told investigators she was in the kitchen when she saw the man pull into the driveway. She said he could not get into the house because it was locked. She talked to the man through the door and told him she would take care of his hamster.

According to the affidavit, Young left the door and went to his car with the gun.

The affidavit stated that Young saw his mother duck and then shot through the door at his brother.
