There are two very interesting phones that will be launching in China next month. One of the first phones in the world with a 200-megapixel camera will be teased in a Weibo post by the company. It could be joined by a third-generation foldable Razr. The new foldable was teased on Weibo by the general manager of the company, who posted a silhouette of a device unfolding.
The codename for the phone has been leaked a couple of times in recent months. Several renders of the device were posted by WinFuture in January. The main camera on the phone will be 200MIP, and will be accompanied by a 50-MIP ultrawide, a 12-MIP telephoto, and a 60-MIP selfie camera.
A 6.67-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate is rumored to be part of the specifications. A photograph of the phone was posted to Weibo.
Images of the device leaked earlier this month, and the company's CEO appeared to confirm that the company was working on a third-generation Razr. The device still looks like a foldable, but it could have a different design and a different power button.
The new Razr is expected to be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, which was announced just days ago. The same chip is expected to be used in the cameraphone. It's a big step up for the foldable in particular, whose previous generations have used a different type of processor.
There is no word on when or if either phone will be released outside of China. The Edge X30 was launched in China at the end of 2021, but was only brought to the US earlier this year. Both new devices could be released before the end of the year if it uses a similar approach.
