eBay is the latest company to enter the NFT business, as the online marketplace announced today that it is launching its first collection of NFTs in partnership with OneOf. The company will feature 3D and animated interpretations of the athletes featured on Sports Illustrated covers.

The first NFT collection will feature Canadian hockey player Wayne Gretzky. There are 13 limited-edition digital collectibles in the collection. The NFTs start at $10 and contain a 3D rendering or animation of Gretzky making a signature move on the ice.

Dawn Block, the vice president of collectibles, electronics and home at eBay, said in a statement that eBay is now making coveted NFTs more accessible to a new generation of collectors.

eBay revealed last year that it was going to embrace NFTs and add new capabilities to its platform.

A growing number of companies are looking to incorporate NFTs into their platforms. It was recently announced that it will be testing NFTs with creators in the United States. A new feature that allows artists to promote their NFTs on their profiles was confirmed last week.
