According to a new report, Apple is one of several companies that have held talks with Electronic Arts about a potential purchase.

Apple, Amazon, and Disney are some of the potential suitors that Electronic Arts has spoken to. The status of the talks is not known at this time, but Apple has an interest in gaming due to its Apple Arcade service.

The gaming company approached Disney in March to establish a more meaningful relationship than licensing deals, but Disney decided not to pursue a purchase. The talks with NBCUniversal ended due to disagreements over pricing and structure. Should Apple purchase the company, Andrew Wilson wants to remain at the head of the company.

The Sims, Battlefield, Apex, and SimCity are just a few of the gaming franchises that are published by Electronic Arts.

There have been some rumors about Apple trying to compete in the gaming space by releasing titles that are similar to those on the PS and XBOX consoles, but so far the company has stuck to simpler games designed for the Apple TV.

The Apple Arcade gaming service has been growing with new titles on a monthly basis. It remains to be seen if Apple is serious about getting into gaming in a bigger way after the acquisition of Electronic Arts.

Microsoft and Sony have both recently purchased gaming companies, with Microsoft spending nearly $70 billion to buy Activision and Sony spending more than $3 billion to buy Bungie.
