Users of the device can now use the Assistant. You can assign Assistant to a long press on the home button, along with being available in the app tray. Today's update offers users access to a number of services.
During the Google I/O earlier this month, it was said that support for the Google Assistant would arrive on the device in the summer. Patrick Chomet, the executive vice president of products and experience, noted that the Assistant would allow for faster and more natural voice interactions.
Support for other third-party apps is on the way, as well as the ability to control Spotify via the Google Assistant. The apps and services will be improved for the watch later this year.
The official support for the feature should make it easier for most people to use it. The move comes a year after it was revealed that the two companies were collaborating on Wear OS. Going forward, Wear OS will be used by the company on its watches.
