A source familiar with the matter says that the former head of the Asia Pacific business for the ride-sharing company, as well as a partner at the Indian venture capital firm, has received backing from several high-profile entrepreneurs, including the CEO of the ride-sharing company.
According to its website, Jain's startup is building banking and payments for the cryptocurrencies. A person familiar with the matter says that the startup Zamp is trying to help firms adopt the digital currency. The source said that Zamp has received investments from two other people.
Jain has disclosed investments from former SoftBank and Facebook executives, as well as Go-To Group chief executive and Polygon co-founder. The website shows investments from Claure, Khosrowshahi and Xu. Jain's new startup has not been previously reported.
