An arrest warrant has been issued for a male professional cyclist in the fatal shooting of a female cyclist.

Wilson was found dead in a home in East Austin. She had traveled from San Francisco and was staying in town before riding in a gravel race.

A murder charge has been filed against a woman in connection with a shooting. On the day after Wilson was killed, police confronted her with video footage that shows a vehicle matching the one she drives. Wilson had returned to the home after swimming with the boyfriend.

Police said that she nodded in agreement when detectives told her that the video did not look good for her.

The person has not been arrested. She deleted her social media accounts and her boyfriend told police he hasn't seen her since May 13. Her account on the online cycling and fitness platform remains public and shows that she last rode on May 11, the day Wilson died.

On Friday, the U.S. marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force asked for the public's help in locating the fugitive.

The affidavit shows a romantic relationship that began in October when she split from her boyfriend. After a brief break in that relationship, Strickland met and became romantically involved with Wilson, only to get back together with Armstrong.

According to police, a person assisting in the investigation told them that Armstrong became angry when she learned about the relationship between Wilson and Strickland. Police say that around that time, Strickland bought a 9mm handgun for himself and another for Armstrong.

investigators seized a 9mm handgun from the home where the two people lived. In comparing shell cases fired from that gun to those found in the home where Wilson was killed, police say the potential that the same firearm was used is significant.

Colin Strickland describes relationship with Wilson

In a statement to the American-Statesman on Friday, Strickland said he had a brief relationship with Wilson after meeting her in Austin. He said that after he had a fling with Wilson, his relationship with him turned into a platonic one, and that he got back together with him. He said he was no longer in a relationship with Wilson.

There is no way that I can adequately apologize for my proximity to this horrible crime.

He has cooperated with authorities and will continue to do so.

It was not his intention to pursue a romantic relationship that would be deceptive. I admired her greatly and considered her a close friend, and we were both leaders in this lonely, niche sport of cycling. I am grieving her death.

Wilson was considered one of the country's top cyclists and recently quit her job to focus on training. She came to Texas to win the Gravel Locos race.

On the day she died, Wilson left her home to go swimming with her friend, investigators say in the affidavit. Police say she came back after he dropped her off on his motorcycle. A dark SUV with a luggage rack on the hood and a bicycle rack on the back was seen on video by a nearby home.

Wilson was staying at a location that was not known to the detectives. On the day she was killed, she uploaded a ride that began and ended at the home where she was staying.

The woman who rents the home where Wilson was staying called police after she found him lying in the bathroom. She told police that there was nothing missing in the home except for Wilson's bicycle, which was found in thick bamboo more than 60 feet from the house.

Authorities with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force went to the home where Strickland lives to investigate Wilson and his relationship with him. The affidavit says that they found a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee that matches the vehicle on the video.

In a voluntary interview with police, Strickland revealed that the Grand Cherokee was returned home that night.

Unless a suspect is convicted of a crime, all charges are meaningless.
