Amazon is experimenting with making deliveries from mall retailers, according to a report.

The outlet was the first to report that Amazon is testing a program that will allow retailers to get products into customer homes quicker. Gig workers who make deliveries in their own cars and Amazon Flex drivers who pick up packages from retail locations are being used in the trial.

The pilot has been running. According to communications with drivers, the participating retailers are located in at least three cities.

CNBC reported Friday that Amazon sent a notice to drivers in Las Vegas.

According to CNBC, a memo to staffers said that Amazon Flex is testing a new offer type near you.

Kate Kudrna told CNBC that there are a few existing Amazon sellers.

Kudrna told the outlet that they have been delivering from third-party stores for years.

Amazon did not reply immediately to Insider's request for comment.
