According to a report published yesterday, Jutha's Model Y caught fire and briefly trapped him inside, but he was able to escape.
Jutha's car completely turned off and lost all power while he was in the city.
Jutha told the British Columbia-based news outlet that the doors wouldn't open.
The car began to smoke as it entered the cab. Jutha says he kicked out a window to escape. The man called for help after he felt panicked. While waiting for them to arrive, local constructions workers at a site nearby directed traffic around the man's burning car.
The fire chief of North Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services said that the individual had the strength to kick the window out.

Watched a @Tesla catch on fire this morning. As soon as it started smoking the electrical system locked trapping the guy inside. Luckily construction workers broke the window so he could escape. Neat feature pic.twitter.com/9OHoP9mWbe

The accident is under investigation and firefighters are trying to figure out what went wrong with the car.
The emergency protocol for opening the door in an electrical failure isn't intuitive, and Jutha encourages other owners of the car to learn what to do should the same happen to them. A video on how to use the door panel is about ten minutes long, and one used it to point out that the door panel is a lever.
It's not the first time a car from the company has been involved in accidents or made crazy decisions, but we're glad the man is okay.
