American teenager Coco Gauff did not allow 10 double-faults, 12 break points or a warning from the chair umpire about receiving coaching from her father to stop her progress into the second round at the French Open.
Gauff started her trip to Paris with a victory over Canadian Rebecca Marino. Gauff reached the quarterfinals at the French Open a year ago before losing to Barbora Krejcikova.
Sixth-seeded Ons Jabeur was knocked out of the tournament by 56th-ranked Magda Linette of Poland. The Frenchman has 17 wins on clay this season. She made it to the final of the Italian Open after winning the Madrid Open.
The chair umpire told Gauff that her father was moving his hands and that she could see it as coaching.
It's... I asked her what signals he was showing, because I don't see anything. She told me that I could not tell him not to do what he was doing with his hands because it could be construed as coaching.
She was just doing her job and I was just doing my job as a player and defending my integrity, it was just funny for me because I have had so many conversations with my dad.

Muguruza won the title at the French Open in 2016 and was the 10th seed this year, but she was defeated by Kaia Kanepi on Sunday.
Kanepi is the oldest player in the women's draw in Paris. She is participating in the French Open for the 15th time. She has appeared in seven Grand Slam quarterfinals but never won one.
The match ended under a cloud and Muguruza missed a service return on the match point.
She beat Serena Williams in the final at the French tennis tournament six years ago, and then defeated Venus Williams in the Wimbledon final.
