According to sources, Jadeveon Clowney has agreed to re-sign with the Cleveland Browns on a one-year contract worth a maximum of $11 million after enjoying one of the best seasons of his career with the franchise.

Clowney was a former No. 1 overall draft pick, and he played opposite All-Pro pass-rusher Myles Garrett for the Cleveland Browns last season.

Cleveland.com reported that Clowney had agreed to re-sign with the team.

Clowney signed a one-year deal with the Browns in April of last year that included $750,000 in sack bonuses.

He battled injuries throughout his career. Clowney suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2020 after he failed to record a sack in eight games.

Clowney played 14 games this past season. He had two sacks and a forced fumbled in the finale. Clowney expressed an interest in returning to Cleveland, but he wanted to make money off the banner year.

He said that you play at a high level and want to get paid.

Clowney was the top pick in the draft. He has 41 sacks in eight seasons.

Jake Trotter and Jeremy Fowler worked on the report.
