Who is to blame for the baby formula shortage? I am surprised that no one hasfingered the real culprit: women. We wouldn't have this problem if only women would just breastfeed.

If women wouldn't wear provocative clothing or drink so much, we wouldn't have the problem of rape. We wouldn't have to deal with abortions if women abstained.

If young girls were not seducing Daddy or Uncle Adam, there wouldn't be a problem of incest. If women would admit that they ask to be punched or belittled, we wouldn't have spousal abuse. Like marriage vows used to say, there would be only obedientness.

If we can make women carry their pregnancies to term in all instances, then surely we can tell them they must stop. Shortage was solved.

Women are to blame for everything. Right? Why do women behave differently on Earth than on God? Men do. Why not women?

It beats me.

Look east

Where do we need more money in Kansas City? The west side. Where do we need more work? The west side. We need to expand the streetcar and transit services. The west side.

Where do the Royals' powers want to locate a new stadium? There is a downtown. This is what we should not do.

We all saw it

I would like to share my story as Congress begins hearings about unidentified flying objects.

I was a Navy pilot in Mississippi in 1968 and was a member of the Accident Investigating Team. A student was killed in his first solo flight and the three of us spent all day at the site. We removed his body and looked for evidence, as an accident like this is very rare.

After spending all day at the accident site, the three of us started our drive back to the Navy base, and suddenly we saw this huge orange ball flying along side us. We all said, "Do you see what I see?" and we all saw the same thing.

We sped up. We slowed down. We stopped. The cone formed behind the large ball and started a stunning ascent, almost straight up, until it was quickly out of sight.

The next day, a team of Air Force officers interviewed us and told us not to tell anyone what we saw.

A great history

The young man who traveled from Conklin, New York, to Buffalo to kill Black people did the wrong research. He would have learned that there is a lot of Black contribution if he had researched the real history of African Americans.

A few years ago, I was invited to join him at the George Washington Carver National Monument. The National Park Service was giving him an award. Carver's work is displayed in the museum. I was taken aback when I saw the sign on the wall that said God did not put me on this Earth to seek fortune and fame, but to serve mankind.

More than 300 uses for peanuts, soybeans, pecans and sweet potatoes were discovered by Carver. Staying true to his motto, he never patented any of his creations. His inventions have made billions of dollars. His descendants are likely to be among the richest families in the world.

What we do know

An 18-year-old boy loads his legally obtained firearms and drives to Buffalo, New York, to kill Black people. He killed 10 and wounded three. With gun shells still being marked on the crime scene by police, there was no fist shaking or condemnation of the guns that allowed a teenager to wreak such devastation in almost an instant. Why?

One would think that Buffalo Mayor Brown would demand new gun laws to stop this kind of slaughter. President Joe Biden's remarks did not center on weapons and the fear they instill in most everyone, but on the fear that drives people to buy guns for their own protection. Statistics show that new guns cause more gun deaths.

Nobody understands why people such as the Buffalo shooter turn to killing or how to identify them early enough to get help. We know what they need for mass murder. It's only common sense to eliminate the weapons until we understand what drives gun fanatics.

A fair trade?

The residents of Kansas City should have control over their own police department.
