According to the Daily Beast, former President Donald Trump considered dropping out of the presidential race after theAccess Hollywood tape came out.

In her new memoir, "Here's the Deal," former Trump campaign manager and later the president's senior counselor, Kellyanne Conway, made a claim.

The Daily Beast reported that in the book, Trump's campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, wrote that she and Trump met in Trump Tower on the night of October 8, 2016 to discuss the future of the campaign.

The tape was leaked on October 7, 2016 and it showed Trump talking about grabbing women by the pussy.

According to the book, Trump saw reports that the GOP could force him off the ticket or hold a vote to expel him. The incident was condemned by many people.

According to the book, Trump asked if he should get out of the race.

According to the Daily Beast, Conway said that Trump was either testing her or second-guessing himself.

She quotes herself as saying that you can't, unless you want to throw the whole thing to Hillary.

According to the book, Trump was asked what he could not do.

"I know you don't like to lose, but I also know you don't like to quit," she said.

She reassured him that he would win and then told him the misogynistic comments he had made were reprehensible, according to the Daily Beast.

It was previously reported that Trump took two hours to face his wife.

A source told CBS News that when the tape was played to Trump's campaign team, he appeared frightened to see her.

At the time, Trump apologized but defended the tape aslocker room banter and suggested that Bill Clinton had said worse. He insisted on October 8, 2016 that he wouldn't quit.

Insider reached out to the post-presidency office of Trump on Saturday but did not get a response.
