Filmmaker Oliver Stone has claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin has recovered from cancer, amid speculation about his health since he ordered the invasion of Ukraine.
The Oscar-winning filmmaker, who interviewed Putin over two years, said in an interview that he thinks Putin has licked his cancer. He has also been isolated because of carbon dioxide.
Stone commented after New Lines reported that a Russian billionaire had said that Putin was very ill with blood cancer.
According to New Lines, an investigator from Bellingcat said that in March officers in the Federal Security Service were sent a memo to debunk rumors about the president's health.
Stone was granted more than a dozen interviews with Putin over the course of two years. Stone interviewed Putin at the Kremlin.
Putin made a rare public comment about his personal life during one of the interviews for the documentary.
Stone was asked why he thought Putin invaded Ukraine.
Stone said that Putin appeared not well informed and suggested that he had underestimated the degree of cooperation between Russian forces and ethnic Russians.
Stone said he was only speculating, but he believed that Putin didn't assess the situation correctly.
The filmmaker, who has been a strident critic of American foreign policy, said there had been a wall of propaganda as he has seen in the West.
The nature of false flag operations is that they are going to invade. The US was ready when they invaded.
Stone said that Putin fell into a trap set by the US.
Stone said he would ask Putin what he was thinking on February 23, the day before the invasion.
