According to Heat coach Eric Spoelstra, Kyle Lowry will warm up with the intention of playing in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Boston Celtics on Saturday night.
In the fourth game of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers, Lowry injured his left leg. In the first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks, Lowry was injured in Game 3. He did not play in the last two games of that series and the first two of the 76ers series.
The Heat are tied at 1 with the Celtics, but have gotten dominated by the Celtics in Miami in the first two games of the series. The Heat players and coaches have mentioned many times how helpful Lowry has been on and off the floor, and his potential return has the attention of a strong Celtics team as well.
Grant Williams said after Saturday's shootaround that Kyle brings shooting and intensity to the defensive end.
He's a vet that you have to take out of the game because he provides a scoring push for them as well, and they play a lot more in transition when he plays. He kicks the ball ahead and is willing to pull up in transition 3s. It gives them a different dynamic. It will be fun to have him back because you want every team to be healthy so you can compete at the highest level, and hopefully P.J. has a good knee so we all can play.
Tucker left Game 2 with a knee contusion and is expected to play in Game 3.
