In New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine, the CDC warned of high levels of community transmission.
According to the CDC, the seven-day average for hospital admissions is 3,250 for the week ending May 17th, up 24% from the week prior.

The health officials in the Bay Area of California recommend that people wear masks and get tested, but did not impose any new restrictions. The CDC only recommended masks for areas with high levels of severe cases in February.
