Phil Foden was named the Young Player of the Season for the second year in a row.

Foden, who won the award in 2020/21, has already matched his return of the previous campaign, with nine goals and five assists, while growing in importance for the team under managerPep.

Foden missed the first month of the season with a foot injury but returned to show his huge potential to beat off competition from Mount and Rice.

Phil Foden gives his thoughts on future team-mate Erling Haaland and why he is looking forward to linking up with the Norwegian striker next season.

Phil's responsibility is not a problem. It is not a problem for him since day one went to bigger stages, bigger scenarios and important games. He likes to play.

He can play in all five positions up front, and he can do it all in the same spot.

I think in time he will be able to play in positions in the middle, he still has all the skills, the high speed, so maybe now the wide positions suit him better.

When I first saw him in the Academy, he was playing in a position like Kevin De Bruyne, but his actions were so quick.

David Silva slowed the rhythm to increase it, but Phil's rhythm is always high.

It's good as he is so aggressive and we need it, but sometimes he needs a little bit, but that is a question of time. He can do it, it is just a question of time.

Three players are on the list for the Player of the Season award.

The winner of the main award will be announced on Saturday. The nominees for the Young Premier League Player of the Season were made up of Tyrick Mitchell, and the nominees for the prizes were Trent Alexander-Arnold and Bukayo Saka.

Alexander-Arnold and Joao Cancelo are two of the title-tussling titans who are nominated for the main prize.

After missing a penalty in the Euro 2020 final against Italy, Saka scored 11 goals and had six assists in his most productive season for the club.

Only three players in the top flight have registered at least 10 goals and 10 assists this season, and that's because of the efforts of West Ham's Bowen.

Despite being left out of the Euro 2020 squad, Ward-Prowse continued to deliver consistent performances for the Saints this season.

They are among a group of people in contention for the prize, which is decided by an online vote and a panel of football experts.

Coach Win % PPG Pos.
Guadiola 77.78% 2.47 1
Klopp 72.22% 2.39 2
Vieira 28.57% 1.26 11
Frank 33.33% 1.19 13
Howe 44.00% 1.52 14

Since Manchester United won three consecutive league titles in 2006/07, 2007/08 and 2008/09, City will be the first team to win three in a row.

Frank had a great debut season in the premier league, defeating the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea to comfortably avoid the drop.

The summer of change at Crystal Palace was overseen by Vieira, who introduced an exciting new core of players to his squad, while ensuring the south London club maintain their status in the top flight.

After failing to win any of their first 14 matches, Howe has had a huge effect on the side and they have avoided the drop.
