The first episode of Night Sky was beamed out of Earth's atmosphere in order to get more eyeballs on the show. The company pulled off the stunt earlier today for the first-ever intergalactic premiere of a TV series.

SES and Intelsat used their ground stations and satellites to send the episode to another planet. The transmission won't be caught by broadcast satellites and sent back to terra firma, as is usually the case, according to a press release from Prime Video.

Prime Video claims it is the first streaming service to send its content to space, and it marks the farthest distance that a TV series has been distributed. If anyone has the right gear, they will be able to catch the first episode of the series.

Prime Video aired Night Sky today. Sissy Spacek and JK Simmons play a couple who have been hiding a secret for a long time: there is a chamber buried in their backyard that leads to a deserted planet. When a young man enters their lives, everything changes.
