The minister of communications in Brazil invited Musk to discuss internet access in rural areas of the country and ways to monitor and protect the Amazon.
Musk said he was excited to be in Brazil for the launch of Starlink for 19,000 unconnected schools in rural areas and environmental monitoring of Amazon.
Musk answered questions about self-driving cars and the positive effect they will have on the economy from a group of students in a video posted to Bolsonaro's Facebook account.
None of the students brought up Musk's $44 billion proposed deal to buy Twitter, but Bolsonaro said it was like a breath of hope.
