Hugh, Elizabeth, McGovern, Laura, Carmichael, Jim, Carter, and Logan all reprise their roles from the first movie. At the time of writing,Downton Abbey: A New Era holds a 85% Certified Fresh rating from review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes.

Although it hasn't been officially confirmed or denied, the series creator has teased a potential third film to complete a trilogy.
