The first transition of its 7xx-lineup to the new naming scheme it adopted last year was the introduction of the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Chipset. The mission of the 7 Gen 1 remains the same; to bring flagship-level features and capabilities to the best budget phones.
Compared to the previous generation of the chip, the new chip from the company promises a 20% boost in graphics. The chip will provide better battery life thanks to the more efficient 4nm node.
The 7th-generation artificial intelligence engine of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 gives it a 30% boost in processing power over its predecessor. The chip gets faster 5G and better support for 6/6E networks with the X62 modem.
The new chip will support up to 200MP, which is a first for the 7-series. It may not be long until the first phone with a 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor shows up. The chip will allow for better video capture.
