A 1-year-old boy died after being raped by 2 Russian soldiers, Ukraine says

The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Ukrainian Parliament said on Thursday that a one-year-old boy died after being raped by two Russian soldiers.

The accusation is one of the worst from the invasion of Ukraine.

Denisova said that it gets reports of sexual violence against Ukrainians every day.

Leontiivna said that the report had been received in the previous 24 hours. Insider couldn't find independent evidence for the claim.

She didn't give a location for the allegation about the one-year-old, but she said that most of the new reports were coming from around Kharkiv. She said that most reports were made by relatives or the victims themselves.

Russian forces have been withdrawing from the area around the city of Kharkiv, which has been the target of heavy attacks in the past.

The commissioner said that her office received 10 reports of sexual violence in one hour on Thursday.

Leontiivna appealed to the UN Commission for Investigation Human Rights Violations during the Russian military invasion of Ukraine to take into account the facts of genocide of the Ukrainian people.

The invasion of Ukraine by Russia has been described as a genocide by Ukrainian officials, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
