The Boston Red Sox overcame a four-run deficit to beat the SeattleMariners 12-6 on Thursday night.

He became the first second baseman in MLB history to steal a base in a game. Since 1920, he has 5 runs, 3 dingers and 7 RBIs, which is the most by a Red Sox player.

Story hit a pair of two-run homers and a three-run shot in the eighth, and he also drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth with the help of a wild throw. Story had just two homers in 32 games in the first season of his contract.

Boston scored nine straight runs and won for the fifth time in seven games, thanks in part to a two-run double by Bradley Jr.

After Seattle roughed up Rich Hill for four runs in the first two frames, the RedSox got a four-hour relief from Tanner Houck.

Seattle lost for the third time in four games and fell to 3-4 on its lengthy trip after Dylan Moore hit a three-run home run in the second.

Ty France had a double in the second. Houck came out of the pen and shut down the Mariners over the next four, striking out six and allowing just one hit and one walk.

George Kirby lasted until the sixth but was pulled after Alex Verdugo doubled off the wall.

Although Kirby couldn't pick up his first win in the majors, he was on the hook for the loss after Story looped a single off of Moore's glove into center, and Verdugo scored when Rodriguez's throw skipped past third. Story took second on the throwing error, stole third and scored easily on Bradley's double high off the Monster to put Boston up 6-3.

Boston's eighth straight run was allowed to cross the plate after Seattle's Wyatt Mills hit Christian Vazquez with a pitch in the seventh. Story scored his fourth run after Danny Young walked Bradley on six pitches.

Story hit a two-run home run to center in the second and a two-run shot to left in the third to tie it and make it all the way out of Boston. He connected off Young in the eighth over the Monster and onto the street.

Story has hit 19 homers in his career.

Rodriguez hit his third home run of the season in the ninth.
