Gorman is an infielder who plays both second and third base while Liberatore is a lefty pitcher.

The MLB draft had three picks. The 16th and 19th picks were used by the Cards and the Rays, respectively. The deal centered around Randy Arozarena involved the trade of Liberatore to St. Louis in January 2020.

Pete Alonso hit a walk-off two-run home run in the 10th to give the Mets a win over the Cards. The Pirates will be in St. Louis for a three-game series.
