Network address translation is a big part of online games and decides how incoming traffic is handled. If your NAT type is not set up right, you can set up barriers to prevent you from playing with other people. There are many reasons you may have strict or double NAT types on your network, but with the help of port forwarding, you can easily overcome the hurdles. It is not the only method.
It is enough for many people to make sure Universal Plug and Play is enabled on their routers. You can change the NAT type on the PS4 to play online.
The ports you need to open up for your PS3 are the same, but the process may be different. The steps are the same, but you may need to dig around to find what you need.

2. Go down and select the network.
3. Select View Connection Status.
4. The console has an internet protocol address. The port forwarding process requires this later.
5. The console's address should be noted. This may be required for later steps.
6. Go to your control settings. If you haven't done it before, a good place to start is checking on your router, as many might have the information on a sticker.
7. The data from step four and possibly step five will help you assign a static address to your PS4 console. You can find it in the Advanced networking section of the companion app.
There are 8. There are forwarding port rules for your computer. You can find this under Advanced networking if you use the example of the internet.
There are 9. Add rules for the internet. Sony has a networking guide.
You should see an improvement in your NAT type if you give everything a restart.
Follow the first three steps to check it out. There are three types of NAT on the PS4: open, moderate, and strict. When done, be sure to see what your results change to. In my case, I used this method and was able to get rid of the double NAT caused by using the internet with an internet service provider.
You would be mistaken if you think your NAT type is not as important as internet speed. Warframe wouldn't let me play until I made the double NAT issues disappear, because games like Call of Duty and Fortnite are notorious for being a bit harsher depending on your NAT type. It is definitely worth doing something.
A lot of players still don't know how tricky a bad NAT type is, despite the fact that most players know it's not good for gaming. If you play with a bad NAT type, certain games, like Call of Duty, are more punishing than others.
If you can fix the issue instead of just playing through it, it will be worth it.
If you want to play online games, you need a decent cable, but a decent cable will speed up your connection and give you better download speeds.
