CM Punk, arguably the company's biggest star, wore a t-shirt to support abortion rights for the second year in a row.
Two weeks after a draft of a Supreme Court opinion was leaked, Wednesday night's repeat attire drew more attention. Punk walked out onto the stage and down the entrance ramp in Houston last night with a T-shirt that read "Abortion rights are human rights!"
Punk wore a shirt with a diagram of the female reproductive system with the phrase "Get your own then tell it what to do" below it. The U.S. Supreme Court took a conservative majority in the fall of 2018, and Texas Governor Greg Abbott has tried to strike down abortion laws for his entire career in public office.
Punk has been one of the few male athletes to acknowledge the topic. Ahead of the first American Formula One Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton spoke about the topic. Two weeks ago, a former quarterback and a running back posted on the topic. The Washington Nationals pitcher was among the demonstrators outside the Supreme Court in the days after the draft leaked.
