The first season of Evil ended with a murder and a threat to the family of the serial killer who was freed from jail on a technicality. It was after David had become a Catholic priest that he and the other supernatural investigator, Kristen, decided to finally kiss.
The beginning of season three is quite built-in. A new trailer gives us a glimpse of what to expect, as well as the reassurance that the third season of Evil will begin after the end of season two. The two have to contend with David's involvement with an espionage unit within the Catholic church. Ben turns to his sister for help as his brain breaks from their unsolved cases.
A possessed jack-in-the-box to boot! There are deep themes that investigate spirituality and the nature of the human soul in that trailer, as well as a certain madcap wackiness that keeps everything from feeling too serious. The cast also includes Christine Lahti, who plays the increasingly unhinged mother, and a quartet of excellent actors.
You can catch up with Evil seasons one and two on Paramount+, with new episodes every Sunday thereafter.
