The view of the dark red Moon during the lunar eclipse on May 15-16, 2022, was amazing. What would the eclipse look like from space?

Wonder is over. A series of photos of the lunar eclipse were taken by the European Space Agency/Italian astronaut.

After the eclipse, the photos were posted on the website of the European Space Agency.

Cristoforetti has served on the International Space Station twice. She set a record for the longest space mission by a female, at 200 days, which has since been broken twice. Two NASA astronauts spent time on the space station in the same year, with Christina Koch spending more than 300 days on the station.

A NASA Astronaut took a picture of the Moon near the beginning of the eclipse. There are more images of the Moon taken by astronauts.
