Insider reported Thursday that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is engaged to her partner Riley Roberts.

She told Insider that the couple got engaged last month in Puerto Rico and are taking some time to savor it.
They met when they were undergrads at Boston University. Roberts moved from Arizona to the Bronx to be with the congresswoman after the couple broke up. Roberts, who works in marketing, was described in a Vogue profile as an easy going redhead. The two got a puppy in 2020. According to People, the editors of New York Magazine wrote that Roberts is one of the two most important people in the life of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Roberts is not the typical partner of a politician, according to the book. Eric Baker told the authors that Riley is just as smart as anyone he has ever met.
