Jimbo Fisher gets heated reacting to Saban's criticism (2:42)

Jimbo Fisher is the head football coach of Texas A&M. There is a time limit.

12:25 PM ET

Jimbo Fisher delivered a fiery rebuttal to Alabama coach Nick Saban's comments that Texas A&M bought every player in its recruiting class.

Fisher said there was no truth to the accusations.

The Texas A&M coach said there were no rules broken. There was nothing wrong. It is a shame that you have to defend 17-year-old kids and Texas A&M. We will always do things the right way. We are always going to be here. We are doing a great job.

Fisher took the comments personally. Fisher's response was also personal.

Fisher said that it was despicable that a head coach could come out and say this when he didn't get his way. It is ridiculous when he is not on top.

Five five-star prospects were signed by Texas A&M, with 20 of them ranked in the top 150. The class is considered the top-rated group in the modern era of recruiting rankings. Fisher, who was the quarterbacks coach at LSU from 2000 to 2004, made accusations of his own against the coach.

Fisher said that some people think they are God. A lot of things you don't want to know. He will be the czar of football. If you want to coach with him, dig into his past. You can find out what he does and how he does it. It is despicable.

He said that he had been contacted by the Alabama coach.

Not going to. Fisher compared his time as an assistant at Florida State under Bobby Bowden and his time as the head coach at Florida State to that of Nick Saban. It is easy when you have all the advantages. You learn how to do things with people like Bobby Bowden. You learn how not to do things as a coach. There is a reason people are not back and working for him. Don't be associated with him.

You can call me any time you want. You cannot call me a cheat. I don't lie and I don't cheat. When I was a kid, I learned that. Your old man hit you upside the head if you did. Maybe someone should have slapped him.

The Alabama players made $3 million doing it the right way last year, and only 25 of them were able to take advantage of the NIL opportunities, according to the coach.

Alabama was second in recruiting last year, according to the coach. A&M bought every player on their team. We did not buy one player. I don't know if we will be able to sustain that in the future because more and more people are doing it. It is difficult.

Fisher asked what was funny in that talk before he said that about us. He asked if he was soliciting funds from the crowd. I guess when you walk on water, it doesn't matter.

Fisher was asked if it would be awkward to see the two teams at the same time.

Fisher said that he doesn't mind confrontation. I have been living with it my whole life. It's like it myself. It was not the way I was raised to back away from it.

Fisher went after an anonymous message board poster who used the handle "Sliced Bread" for claims that the A&M had $30 million at their disposal in name, image and money.

Fisher said the claim was amplified by the media, a Notre Dame administrator and fellow SEC coaches for spreading rumors about deals promised to recruits.

Fisher lamented the need to defend his class on Thursday, saying it was disgusting. It is despicable for what it does for the sport.

Fisher implied that the way in which he ran his own program was what led to the hypocritical comments about college football parity made by the Alabama coach.

Fisher asked if the operations were done the other way when parity was there. Some people don't follow the rules.

There will be a lot of chatter between now and October 8, when Fisher and Alabama meet.

You know what he is about. When people show you who they are, believe them. He is showing you who he is.
