In the last year, John has been on and off of his farewell tour. The musician is going to have his final performance this fall. Disney+ has announced that it will produce a new documentary about the life and music of singer-pianist, composer, and philanthropist, Elton John.
The film is called Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances and The Years That Made His Legend. The Goodbye Yellow Brick Road will feature videos from John's last concerts, including his final farewell at Los Angeles Dodger Stadium in November 2022, as implied by the name. The documentary will include footage of John that spans the entirety of his career, as well as exploring his phenomenal run from 1970 to 1975. John released 10 albums in five years and seven of them became No. 1 hits.

The documentary will include never-before-seen clips of John at home with his husband and family.
It is an honor and a thrill to work with David Furnish to create this intimate and unique look at one of the world's most celebrated artists.
I could not think of a better partner for the film than R.J. Cutler. We are ecstatic to be working together.
Disney Original Documentary will give Goodbye Yellow Brick Road a limited theatrical release as well as a robust festival run, which will make it eligible for the Academy Awards.
Disney+ has not announced a date for Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances. A release in 2023 seems likely.
