Donald Trump pressed Mehmet Oz to call himself the winner of the Republican primary in Pennsylvania, in a series of Truth Social posts on Wednesday night.

Trump wrote in one of his posts that Dr. Oz should declare victory.

He went on to say that the vote count in Pennsylvania was questionable because of cheating by the GOP candidates.

It makes it much harder for them to cheat with the ballots that they just happened to find, Trump said, parroting the former president's baseless claim that widespread voter fraud robbed him of a second presidential term.

Oz is in a close race with David McCormick, with ballots still being counted.

In November 2020, Trump tried to claim victory even as votes were still being counted in several states.

On Wednesday night, Trump insisted that "Oz won" and in other posts, he criticized the "Fake News Media" and Fox News for being "way off on the count and timing in the Oz vote".

According to Decision Desk HQ, Oz has a 0.2-percentage point lead over McCormick with an estimated 98% of the expected votes counted. If the race continues to hold, it will go to an automatic recount.

Two weeks ago, the former president claimed that Republican candidates who want to win should fear him.

This week, that claim was undermined by the fact that controversial freshman Rep. Madison Cawthorn was ousted from office by his primary challenger.

In Idaho, the Trump-backed candidate for governor lost his race after allegations of sexual assault from eight women.

Many of the endorsements that Trump has made have yet to play out. Most of the Trump-endorsed political candidates have won, but many have not.
